The CODI Generator Docking Station is a UL 891-listed dead-front switchboard engineered as a permanent connection point for temporary generator access. Built for critical power projects, each unit is configured around the site’s voltage, amperage, available fault current, connection type, enclosure rating, interlocking, metering, and project-specific safety options. Designed and assembled in Littleton, Colorado.

A generator docking station is a permanently installed, UL 891-listed dead-front switchboard that provides a safe, code-compliant connection point for temporary generator power. It eliminates improvised cabling during outages by giving facilities a dedicated, pre-engineered interface between their electrical system and a portable or rental generator.

What electrical codes does the CODI Generator Docking Station comply with?

The CODI Generator Docking Station is UL 891 listed for dead-front switchboard construction and can be configured to support applicable NEC requirements, including Article 408 and temporary alternate-source connections under NEC 700.3(F) of the 2023 NEC. What voltage and ampacity configurations are available?

Can the generator docking station be used for load bank testing?

Yes. CODI builds dual-purpose generator that facilitates testing performed as part of an NFPA 110 inspection, maintenance and testing program. These combined units allow critical facilities, such as hospitals and data centers, to perform mandatory routine load testing on permanent standby generators and safely connect temporary backup power using the same UL 891-listed enclosure.

What enclosure options are available for outdoor installation?

The standard outdoor configuration is NEMA 3R (Type 3R), rated for protection against rain, sleet, and snow. A stainless steel Type 3R enclosure is available for additional corrosive resistance. Indoor installations use a NEMA 1 (Type 1) enclosure. All configurations use padlockable front doors with three-point latching.
